TAISHO'S POST

The Konara-han is dedicated to the pursuit of the spirit of the warrior. The Konara-han is made of individual "Uchi" or "Households" that operate to support the over all "Han" or "domain", such as the House of Kasei, located in Wichita Kansas and the House of Ranjin located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Overseeing the Konara-han as a whole is the "Tora no uchi" or "House of The Tiger" more commonly said "The House of Tora". As the dominant household, presiding over the others and located in Ontario, California.

The House of Tora is governed by the rules and laws set forth by the households located in Aomori, Japan.  The House of Tora is a place where deep study of the classical Japanese military science of Bujutsu is pursued.

The structure of the Konara-han and its households are fashioned and operated in militaristic spirit. The Konara han is not a gendai school nor is a koryu although it is operated and the martial science learned within it are purely combative.

The Sakura of Somei Yoshino

The general philosophy that permeates the Konara way is the lesson of the Sakura "Cherry blossom". When the flowers of the cherry tree come to blossom they are beautiful and fragile, the slightest breeze and they begin to take flight from the branch creating a most beautiful sight of radiant color.

We, the warriors of the Konara-han, feel that life in general, is such a display. Life, to the warrior, is driven by the desire to achieve one's aim.

"Live when it is right to live, Die when it is right to die"
                                                                                                     -Samurai Maxim"

In life, LIVE WELL in death DIE WELL. This concept should be meditated upon for anyone, warrior or not. We human beings are fragile, the slightest thing can cause us to fly free from this world, like the cherry blossom.  Through the study of our mortality we begin to understand that we must always be sincere in our dealings with others and ourselves, to appreciate a moment of peace, or the company of a loved one, or old friend, the time we are given to watch our children grow, and all things dear, because life does not always bless us with second chances or longevity.

When the slightest breeze blows, we take flight.....

We, the Konara-han, thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about us and our philosophy. Members of the Konara-han, House of Tora, have created this website to answer questions for guest and or new seki-jin or deshi who may be beginning their first steps along the path of the warrior.

Domo Arigato Gozaimasu! (Thank you very much!)

The Konara-han.
